SQL DATE_TRUNC by Quarter
Rounds down to the 1st day of the current quarter — January, April, July, or October 1st.
What & Why
DATE_TRUNC('quarter', date_column) rounds down to whichever of the four quarter-start dates (Jan 1, Apr 1, Jul 1, Oct 1) applies.
